These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Kodeo Songbook, including Songbook Free and Songbook Pro.
Kodeo Songbook is provided by Kodeo Labs Ab, business ID 3122668-6, with an address at Småholmavägen 3 B 1, 22150 Jomala, Finland (“Kodeo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By accessing or using Kodeo Songbook, creating an account, starting a free trial, or purchasing a paid subscription, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
Kodeo Songbook is an application for creating, importing, organizing, displaying, and performing songs, chords, lyrics, and setlists.
It is offered in the following versions:
Songbook Pro requires an account associated with a valid email address.
Available features may vary by platform, device, region, and app version. The applicable features, localized price, currency, taxes, billing period, trial eligibility, and renewal terms are shown before you confirm a purchase.
Songbook Free can be used without creating an account. An account is required to use Songbook Pro synchronization and cloud backup.
You are responsible for:
You must notify us at support@kodeo.io if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
Songbook Free stores songs, setlists, and related information locally on your device.
When Songbook Pro is active, supported content is also synchronized with Kodeo’s servers and across supported devices associated with your account.
Synchronization depends on factors including internet access, device availability, software compatibility, and service availability. Changes made while offline may not appear on another device until synchronization completes.
Songbook Pro’s automatic cloud backup is intended to reduce the risk of data loss, but it does not guarantee that content can always be recovered. You remain responsible for keeping appropriate copies or exports of content that is especially important to you.
Removing the app, clearing app storage, losing a device, deleting local files, or encountering an unsuccessful synchronization may result in the loss of locally stored changes that have not reached Kodeo’s servers.
Songs, setlists, and related content synchronized through Songbook Pro are not end-to-end encrypted.
This means Kodeo’s systems and service providers may technically be able to process or access synchronized content. We limit access to circumstances reasonably necessary to:
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect synchronized content. However, no online storage or transmission system can guarantee complete security.
More information about how synchronized content and account information are handled is available in our Privacy Policy.
You retain ownership of the songs, setlists, lyrics, chords, annotations, and other content you create or import into Kodeo Songbook.
You give Kodeo only the limited rights needed to store, transmit, synchronize, back up, process, and restore your content for the purpose of providing Songbook Pro. This does not give Kodeo ownership of your content.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights or permission to create, import, store, display, perform, share, or otherwise use content through Kodeo Songbook.
In particular, you must not use Kodeo Songbook to store or distribute lyrics, musical works, arrangements, or other material in a way that infringes another person’s copyright or other rights.
Kodeo does not grant you any rights to third-party songs, lyrics, chord arrangements, or other material merely because that material can be imported into or displayed through the app.
We may restrict access to content or accounts when reasonably necessary to respond to a valid legal request, protect the rights of another person, or address a material violation of these Terms.
Songbook Pro is offered as an automatically renewing yearly subscription. No lifetime purchase is currently offered.
Purchases may be processed by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or another payment provider identified at the time of purchase. Their payment and store terms may also apply.
The applicable localized price, currency, taxes, billing period, and renewal date are displayed before you confirm the purchase.
A seven-day free trial may be offered to eligible users. Trial availability may depend on factors such as your app-store account, previous subscriptions, region, or platform. The offer displayed before purchase determines whether a trial applies to you.
Unless you cancel before the trial ends, an eligible free trial automatically converts to a paid yearly subscription at the price shown before purchase.
Songbook Pro automatically renews at the end of each yearly billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
You can manage or cancel the subscription through the Apple or Google account used to purchase it. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current trial or paid billing period, subject to the applicable app-store terms.
Deleting Kodeo Songbook, signing out, or deleting your Kodeo account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by Apple or Google.
If your Songbook Pro trial or paid subscription expires or is cancelled:
Your synchronized songs and setlists remain associated with your account until you delete the account, subject to the retention periods described in our Privacy Policy.
You can delete your account and associated server data through the account-deletion option in Kodeo Songbook or by following the instructions at kodeo.io/songbook/delete-account.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by Apple or Google. You must cancel the subscription separately through the applicable app store.
Refund requests for purchases made through Apple or Google are generally handled by the relevant app store. Purchases made through another payment provider are handled according to the terms shown at purchase.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights you have under applicable consumer law, including rights relating to cancellation, withdrawal, refunds, conformity, updates, or remedies when a digital service is faulty or does not match its description.
You may not use Kodeo Songbook to:
We aim to keep Kodeo Songbook reliable and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Maintenance, security incidents, provider outages, internet failures, device problems, operating-system changes, and other circumstances may temporarily affect the service.
We may update, improve, replace, or discontinue features. Where a change materially reduces a paid service, we will provide reasonable notice when practical and any remedy required by applicable law.
We may also change the limits or features of Songbook Free. Any price or billing change affecting an existing subscription will be handled through the applicable app store and communicated as required by law or store policy.
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to:
Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue before suspending or terminating an account.
You may delete your Songbook account at any time. Account and data deletion are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active Apple or Google subscription.
Kodeo Songbook, including its software, design, branding, interface, documentation, and original content provided by Kodeo, is owned by Kodeo or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, Kodeo grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to use Kodeo Songbook for lawful personal or professional purposes on supported devices.
You may not copy, resell, sublicense, redistribute, reverse engineer, circumvent, or create derivative works from Kodeo Songbook except where applicable law expressly permits it.
These restrictions do not affect your ownership of content that you create or lawfully import into the app.
We provide Kodeo Songbook with reasonable care and skill. However, no software, synchronization system, or online storage service can eliminate every risk of interruption, error, unauthorized access, synchronization conflict, or data loss.
Kodeo is not responsible for loss caused by:
Kodeo remains responsible where loss is caused by our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and the loss was reasonably foreseeable.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, or restricts your mandatory consumer rights.
Kodeo Songbook is not intended to serve as the sole storage location for irreplaceable content. You should keep appropriate copies or exports of important songs and setlists.
Kodeo Songbook relies on third-party services such as Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Render, Resend, and Cloudflare.
Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
App-store terms may apply separately to the licensing, billing, trial eligibility, renewal, cancellation, and refund of purchases made through that store.
We are not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, availability, or policies of third-party services outside our reasonable control.
We may update these Terms when Kodeo Songbook, applicable law, app-store requirements, or our business practices change.
If a change materially affects your rights or a paid service, we will provide reasonable notice through the app, website, email, or another appropriate method before the change takes effect where required.
The date at the top shows when these Terms were last updated.
Continuing to use Kodeo Songbook after updated Terms take effect means that the updated Terms apply, except where applicable law requires another form of notice or consent.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland.
If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not remove any mandatory protections you have under the laws of your country of residence. You may also have the right to bring a dispute before the courts or consumer authorities available in your country.
