Last updated: August 6, 2026

Kodeo Songbook is provided by Kodeo Labs Ab, business ID 3122668-6, with an address at Småholmavägen 3 B 1, 22150 Jomala, Finland (“Kodeo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

This Privacy Policy explains how Kodeo Songbook handles information when you use Songbook Free or Songbook Pro.

Privacy at a Glance

Songbook Free

Songbook Free does not require an account.

Your songs, setlists, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device. Kodeo does not upload this content to its servers unless you create an account and activate Songbook Pro.

Deleting the app, clearing its storage, losing your device, or otherwise removing local app data may permanently delete locally stored songs and setlists unless they have been synchronized or you have created a separate backup or export.

Depending on your device and operating-system settings, app data may also be included in backups provided by Apple, Google, or another device backup provider. Those backups are controlled by the relevant provider and are subject to its privacy practices.

Songbook Pro

Songbook Pro allows you to synchronize your songs and setlists across supported devices and provides automatic cloud backup.

When you use Songbook Pro, we process the following information.

Account Information

We may process:

We use this information to create and secure your account, send sign-in codes, provide synchronization and cloud backup, manage your subscription, and communicate with you about important service-related matters.

Synchronized Songs and Setlists

Songbook Pro may upload and store content associated with your songbook, including:

This content is synchronized so that it can be backed up and made available on your supported devices.

Songbook Pro content is not end-to-end encrypted. This means that Kodeo’s systems and the service providers used to operate Songbook Pro may technically be able to process or access synchronized content.

Access is limited to circumstances reasonably necessary to:

We do not use the contents of your songs or setlists for advertising, behavioral profiling, or training artificial-intelligence models.

Synchronization Metadata

To operate Songbook Pro, we may process metadata such as:

This metadata allows the service to identify records, synchronize changes, resolve conflicts, manage cloud backups, and operate your account.

Technical and Security Information

When you connect to Songbook Pro, our systems and service providers may process limited technical information, including:

We use this information to provide the service, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, protect accounts, enforce rate limits, and maintain service reliability.

We do not use this information for advertising or behavioral profiling.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Kodeo Songbook uses RevenueCat to manage purchases, subscriptions, free-trial eligibility, and access to paid features.

RevenueCat may process information such as:

When you are signed in to Songbook Pro, purchase information may be associated with your Kodeo account so that your entitlement can follow your account across supported devices.

RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf to validate purchases, prevent purchase fraud, provide subscription functionality, and produce purchase-related reporting.

Purchases made through an app store are also processed by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies. Kodeo does not receive your complete payment-card information from Apple, Google, or RevenueCat.

You can review RevenueCat’s privacy policy on RevenueCat’s website.

Email Verification

Songbook Pro uses Resend to send sign-in, verification, account, and service-related emails.

The email provider receives the information needed to deliver those messages, including your email address and the contents of the service email.

We do not use your email address for marketing unless you separately and explicitly choose to receive marketing communications.

Network Security and Abuse Prevention

Kodeo Songbook may use Cloudflare or similar security services to protect its account and synchronization systems from automated abuse, malicious traffic, and unauthorized access.

These services may process technical information such as your IP address, device or request information, and interaction signals for security and fraud-prevention purposes.

Hosting and Service Providers

We use trusted service providers to operate Songbook Pro. These may include:

These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to us or as otherwise described in their own privacy policies and legal terms.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, protect users, investigate abuse, or establish or defend legal claims.

We do not sell or rent personal information.

Where the General Data Protection Regulation or similar law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the effect of the processing on your rights and interests.

International Data Transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States.

Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data Retention

Local Data

Songs, setlists, settings, and preferences used only with Songbook Free remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app’s data, remove the app, or otherwise remove the local storage.

Kodeo does not control copies stored in device backups or files you have exported or shared.

Songbook Pro Accounts

We retain your account information and synchronized songs and setlists while your account remains active and for as long as needed to provide Songbook Pro.

Cancelling or allowing a Songbook Pro subscription to expire does not automatically delete your account or synchronized content.

Your synchronized songs and setlists remain associated with your account until you delete the account. While Songbook Pro is inactive, synchronization and cloud backup may stop, but existing server content remains stored so that it can become available again if Songbook Pro is reactivated.

When you delete your account:

Technical and security logs are ordinarily retained for up to 7 days, unless they are needed for a longer period to investigate abuse, a security incident, an operational problem, or a legal claim.

Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your Songbook Pro account and associated server data through Settings > Account > Delete account in Kodeo Songbook.

You can also find account-deletion instructions at kodeo.io/songbook/delete-account or request deletion by contacting support@kodeo.io.

Deleting your account permanently deletes the server copy stored by Kodeo after the applicable deletion and backup periods.

Account deletion does not necessarily remove:

You must remove those copies separately where applicable.

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed by Apple or Google. These subscriptions must be cancelled separately through the relevant app store.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

You can access your synchronized songs and setlists through Kodeo Songbook while signed in with the relevant account.

To exercise your privacy rights, contact us at support@kodeo.io. We may need to verify that you control the relevant account before fulfilling a request.

You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data-protection authority responsible for your country or region.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account information and synchronized content, including encryption in transit, access controls, authentication controls, rate limiting, monitoring, and restricted administrative access.

Songbook Pro content is not end-to-end encrypted. You should therefore avoid storing highly sensitive personal information in songs or setlists unless you are comfortable storing that information through a conventional cloud service.

No service, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should protect access to your email account and secure every device on which your songbook is available.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Kodeo Songbook, our providers, our data-handling practices, or applicable legal requirements change.

When changes are significant, we will provide reasonable notice through the app, website, email, or another appropriate method.

The date at the top indicates when the policy was last updated.
